PM Narendra Modi has signed agreements with US giants Amazon, Microsoft, and Cisco Systems to modernize the agriculture sector. These tech companies will be given access to data and statistics available on India’s agricultural ecosystem.
PM India also signed agreements with Indian companies and local businesses including Jio Platforms, ITC, ESRI India Technologies, and Patanjali Organic Research Institute
This initiative directs towards the increased deployment of AI and machine learning models and networks in India while ecommerce firms like Amazon will have a crack at the grocery segment.

IT in Healthcare

According to a report by the United Nations, 75% of all healthcare infrastructure including medical specialists and doctors are concentrated in urban areas where only 27% of the Indian population live.

Added to this is the fact that private hospitals and quality healthcare are limited to urban areas. Meanwhile, around 716 million people that make up the remaining 72% of the population stay in rural areas with a chronic lack of primary health care facilities. If India is to realize its goal of universal health coverage (UHC), it is imperative that technology and healthcare talk to each other seamlessly.

2020 has taught India and the world that a well-functioning healthcare system and healthy population are critical to the economic and social well-being of a country. Scaling up the country’s healthcare system is now a top priority of the India.
